ABOUT THE CAKE DECORATOR

Mona Balis took up decorating in April 2006 because she was tired of having her delicious deserts look so plain. She invested in good cake pans and a lot of decorating supplies and started teaching herself. She then enrolled in cake decorating classes to learn more about creating difficult flowers and other harder techniques. She hopes to turn her decorating talent into a paying hobby or perhaps a business one day. Mona has been a mortgage processor for over 20 years and has had her own at-home processing company for the last 7 years. She lives in Illinois.
