Who knew that
a
horse shoe
cake pan
or two could be the
perfect water slide?
Bake two horseshoe cakes and position
together in an "S" shape.
Generously ice tip blue.
Add a rippled effect to resemble water.
Ice sides brown then pat with
granulated brown sugar.
For the slides you can use a pvc
pipe cut
in half lengthwise (can be cut for you
at a hardware store).
Frost inside blue to resemble the water.
For the Sand Towers:
Either stack cupcakes or cookies with frosting
between so they will hold together.
Frost brown and pat with brown sugar
to cover all sides and top.
Inner Tubes:
use mini chocolate donuts
(if they are too tall then cut in half
lengthwise keeping their round shape
and you then have two tubes from each donut.
For kids in inner tubes
Follow the countour
of the inner tube and pipe tip 2A torso
and head like images below for pool kids,
tip 9 legs and arms, tip 4 swim clothes,
tip 2 dot hands, feet, fingers,
toes and facial features.
For pool kids
Use tip 2A and a
90 angle to pipe the upper torso
like shown in the photo above.
To complete pool kids
Add tip 2A ball head, tuck in tip and
add tip 9 upright arms.
Add tip 1, 2 and 3 details.

Fun in the Pool...
Bake two round 10" cakes and frost . Cover
the top of the cake with blue frosting or edible blue candy sprinkles.
For the sides of the pool you can use sugar cookie dough tinted
to blue and cut into 3x3 squares. Place around the edge of your
frosted cake and using candy sticks, fruit stripe gum and life
savers you can create the rest of the sides and around the top
edge of the pool. Cut out cookies in the shape of people or use
a gingerbread boy cookie cutter and decorate in swim suites see

Playground
The swingset is made with small wooden dowels
wrapped in fanci foil. Cap top bar ends with gumdrops. use thin
cord and thin styrofoam rectangles for the swings. The slide is
cardboard wrapped in fanci foil. Use brown sugar for the sand
and green frosting for the grass and sugar flowers.

This weeks issue:
Sand Castle
on the
Beach Cake
Bake and Ice your rectangle cake then pat on granulated brown
sugar. Place a pound cake or loaf cak on top and ice and pat with
brown sugar. For the towers you can do the same thing that was
done on the water slide cake to the left by stacking cookies or
cupcakes frosted in between to hold them together or bake your
cake batter inside ice cream cones. fill half full of cake batter.
Pace upright in an 8" square pan. Bake in a 350 oven for
about 20 minutes or until done. Cool for at least 1 hour.

Use tips 2 and 5. Orange, black and royal blue icing colors. The
body is a large gum ball!
Fun in the Sun...
Use tips 2, 4 16, 352, orange, kelly green, royal blue, brown
icing colors, yellow candy melt is the sun and the beach you can
use granulated brown sugar or ground nuts. Note: some people are
allergic to nuts so be sure if you use them to let everyone know
what it is or to be safe stick with the brown sugar.
This mini loaf cake is too cute... for the goldfish use those
jumbo gold fish crackers and decorate...
Island Cake
Bake two 10" round cakes and two 8" round cakes. Ice
your cakes and stack them with the two larger cakes on bottom.
Cover with golden brown sugar and decorate. Palm trees are made
with cream-filled piroutte cookies and gum drop leaves.

Island Cookies
Roll out your favorite sugar cookie dough and using the tip of
the knife cut island shapes and place on parchment paper and bake.
Cool completely. To make umbrellas you can use the same dough
and cut into umbrella shapes or use an umbrella cookie cutter.
Use white icing to attach candy stick to umbrella.
The beach towel can be cut from the same dough or use a piece
of graham cracker. The beach is iced then coverd with brown sugar
except the water area and it is swirled icing.
